Only knew about him cause of a tumblr post I saw a few years ago. Everything about our history I had to learn myself. Unless it was tidbits about Jamaica learned from family or Africa learned in African History class (an elective I chose in high school). But even then African History wasn’t the whole truth but I do thank that teacher with my whole heart for trying to teach us the truth about some of African history
